Who is Sayantan Ghosh?
My journey behind the lens began with a simple film camera and evolved into a desire to master the art of image post-processing. While pursuing my post-graduation in Biomedical Engineering, I decided to dive into purchasing professional mirrorless setup, focusing on portrait and lifestyle photography to refine my craft around visual storytelling.
Later, as I immersed myself in building tech products within India’s consumer internet startup ecosystem, I missed the tangible connection to the living world that my early research years had given me. Incidentally, I started travelling more and turned my lens towards wildlife photography, for I loved the sheer challenge that came with it.
Today, I’m pursuing an audacious personal challenge: traveling across terrains, biomes, and borders to document every bird species of the world. This digital footprint is a living archive of that pursuit. A collection of field notes, visual memoirs, and quiet moments found far off the beaten path.
